Presale vs. Resale
One of the biggest questions to ask is whether you want a presale or resale home. Presale homes offer you the opportunity to have a brand new home, sometimes tailored to your desires. You get warranty insurance and can benefit from property appreciation. On the down side, you have to wait for the project to be finished before moving in, and there’s no guarantee of mortgage approval until the project nears completion.
Resale, on the other hand, allows you to get mortgage approval and move in right away. You can see the home as it sits without having to worry about whether it’ll meet your needs. On the down side, you’ll need to have more money up front, and you may have to put some cash into renovations.
